About Kimberley Primary School
Kimberley Primary School is a County Primary Co-educational Day School for pupils aged 3-11 years.
Our building, on Swingate, is modern, having been completed in 2002. Nevertheless, it still retains that traditional community feel which has developed from when the original school building was opened in 1883 closer to the centre of Kimberley.
We have 180 places available for full-time school children and we also have a nursery which has places for a further 52 children. We accept children into our Nursery at the beginning of the term after their third birthday. You can apply for a Nursery place at anytime and your child's name can be put on a waiting list if we do not have space. We are currently offering flexible 15 hours care and top-up sessions. Our School is unique to Kimberley because of our facilities for Nursery places.
We are currently expanding and hope to be able to accept 30 children in each year group from September 2018. At present, we accept up to 20 in Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3.
Our school is part of the Kimberley Family of Schools and our 'feeder' secondary school is The Kimberley School - A foundation School whose head teacher is called Mr Andrew George. Every School has a catchment area and you will see that this is mentioned in our admissions policy.
HMI last visited our school in July 2017, following the appointment of a new headteacher in September 2016 and the letter can be found here.
