Welcome to Banksy Class
My name is Miss Wagstaff and I am the class teacher for Year 6.
I am really looking forward to the year ahead and I know Banksy Class will have a wonderful final year at KPS.

As part of our learning on Conflict, we have been studying the artist Georg Gerster. For our cross curricular writing this half term, we have created biographies on his life before we start creating our own interpretations of his work.
On Friday 18th October, Banksy Class visited the War Memorial at Victoria Embankment as part of our learning on Conflict. The children also had an opportunity to experience the opportunities around the local area of Kimberley, we used Mango cards to catch the bus into Nottingham City Center and from there caught a tram to the War Memorial. We had such a fun day and the children were impeccably behaved.
Christmas Crafts by Banksy Class
We have started our new learning theme for this term, Earthquakes, Zones and Volcanoes. We began by looking at the ten biomes that cover the Earth's surface and created diagrams to show how these link to different climate zones.
For Spring term, Banksy Class will be taking part in a DARE programme as part of PSHE.
We have created our own versions of 'The Order of the Night' by Kieffer and linked this to our learning theme by choosing one of the biomes that we have looked at as our backgrounds.
On Wednesday 26th February, we had two members from the BBC Weather Team come into school and talk to our class about their jobs. The children, along with Mrs Turner-Rowe, had help from Sara Blizzard to have a go at broadcasting their own news report. It was a brilliant morning and really interesting!
