Our Learning

At our school, we believe that education is about much more than academic success. While pupils develop their knowledge, skills and understanding through a broad and ambitious curriculum, we are equally committed to nurturing their personal development so that they grow into confident, responsible and well-rounded individuals. Every learning experience is designed to support both achievement and character, helping children to understand themselves, build positive relationships and make a meaningful contribution to the world around them.

Our school rules of Kind, Prepared and Safe provide the foundation for daily life and learning, while our values of being Gracious, Resilient, Empathetic, Ambitious and Thoughtful/Tolerant help pupils develop the attitudes and behaviours needed to thrive. These principles are woven throughout the curriculum, assemblies, enrichment opportunities and wider school experiences, ensuring that children learn not only what to think about, but also how to act and engage with others. By combining academic learning with personal development, we equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and character they need for future success.

This approach is further strengthened through our work as a UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award school. Through learning about children's rights and responsibilities, pupils develop a strong understanding of respect, equality and fairness. They are encouraged to use their voices, value the views of others and become active citizens who can make a positive difference in their communities. By embedding children's rights alongside our rules and values, we create a supportive environment where every child feels valued, respected and empowered to achieve their full potential.
