Cognition and Learning Needs

Cognition and Learning Needs Provision:

We have wide ranging needs across the school and cater for many different cognition and learning needs.  We have children identified as at risk of dyslexia, children at risk of dyscalculia, and children who have been identified as having a global delay, children with an acquired brain injury, or diagnosed learning difficulties.  We have a good working relationship with extended services to support these children.

Examples of provisions we offer at KPS:

• Maths and English quality first teaching 
• Precision Teaching
• Dyslexia and Dyscalculia screening
• Multisensory teaching systems for reading and maths
• Referrals to the cognition and learning specialist team (SFSS) 
• Use of tailored resources to support learning in the classroom
