Rights Respecting Schools

At Kimberley Primary School, we are proud to be a Rights Respecting - Silver Level School. We achieved the the Silver award during the 22/23 academic year and are now working towards achieving the Gold award.

The images below contain each of the 42 Rights of the Child, taken from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of The Child, that your Mascot could represent.

You can find out more about Rights Respecting Schools via What is a Rights Respecting School? - UNICEF UK

Each class has created a Class Charter, they decided which articles were important to them and how the Duty Bearers and Rights Holders would work to ensure these articles are met.

Rights Mascot Competition 2023

The Rights Rangers decided they wanted to update our Rights Mascots, they ran a Rights Mascot design competition across the school over the Easter holidays, children and parents worked together to create a Mascot who would help raise the profile of our Rights Respecting Schools agenda and bring us closer to our goal of putting children's rights at the heart of our school.

Our Rights Rangers Steering Group voted to select the winners. In order to keep things fair they weren’t allowed to vote for their own class winner. Here are the winners…

Here are our fabulous designs turned into posters by Tom Charlton one of our talented parents!
