The children in KS1 have spend the summer term taking more time to think about our emotions, how these effect us on a daily basis and how we can better express how we feel.
The children began by exploring Article 13 - Freedom of Expression, sharing freely with our peers what we think and feel. As this can be a challenging thing to do, we decided that we would complete a daily wellbeing check as part of our morning routines where children anonymously indicated how they were feeling (see images below).
In addition, we explored how we can express thoughts, feelings and emotions through art (Article 31 - Rest, Play, Culture, Arts).

Year 2 children learnt about the concept of abstract art and how it can be used to reflect emotion through colour, shape and technique (see images below).
